The Country
The Czech Republic is still very attractive for foreign investors. It is true that the hype of the EU accession year is largely behind us, but this country remains an interesting location for investments of all kinds.
What won't work is the approach that an investment is justified by the wage differentials alone. Sadly, I have met my share of entrepreneurs who built their entire concept on that single aspect. But if striking a bargain is all that counts, there is number of countries which offer still „cheaper“ deals than the Czech Republic. Another common misconception is the idea that every investor gets to cash enough incentives and subsidies to have a project that essentially finances itself.
Yet another myth is the saturated Czech market. While the greater Prague area is already rather densely „populated“ (to speak in economic terms), new hubs of economic activity have since emerged and will continue to offer intriguing possibilities over the next years: I place my bets on Brno, Liberec, Teplice, and Plzen.
